Hike at Mistletoe

I love opportunities to do things one on one with the kids (even if it doesn't end up to be that exact ratio)! Madeline's American Heritage Girls troop was going on a hike as part of a badge they were earning. We went to Mistletoe State park! only 20 minutes from our home.

It was an absolutely beautiful October morning! A bit chilly, but very tolerable once we got moving.

Off we go!

We brought Madeline's friend, Maggie with us

3.9 miles later, we made it!! Seriously, such a great morning!

Play Time

We joined our church homeschool group on a visit to the Imperial Theater in Augusta to see Bilbo and the Magic Ring. It was a huge hit! I'm pretty sure Ethan didn't blink the entire time and even Michael sat quietly and watched the first twenty minutes of it (he and I hung out in the back after that!). Madeline enjoyed it as well and we look forward to our next visit in January.

A toothless grin

"Listen to the wisdom of a toothless grin." Fijian proverb.

These little front teeth had been loose for quite some time, enough time to allow the adult teeth to start coming through. Each were hanging by a thread until finally plucked, one last Saturday and the other on Sunday. This sweet little girl breathed the biggest sign of relief with the loss of each tooth. We didn't realized the anxiety she had built up over the falling out of something she's carried for almost 7 years. These events made for an extra special, exciting Halloween weekend.

Michael is 10 months

I've always been a rule follower...very uncomfortable when they're not being followed. Yet, I let my baby have some ice cream. Not just any ice cream, but that "stuff" from McDonalds.

And I'm ok we broke a "rule"
:)

Strawberry Picking Again!!

May 8, 2013
I think we missed it last year, but we were back to Gurosiks again this year for one of our favorite things we do here. I had two awesome helpers this year and a great supervisor. We left with a ton of yummy strawberries! I had planned on freezing a bunch, but at the rate we're going through them....I think we'll just enjoy them fresh :)

Michael's Baptism

We try to make the trip to Maryland for as many important events that we can. We went last month to have Michael baptized by Doug's great uncle, Paul. Doug's sister, Mary is Michael's Godmother, and my brother, Joe is his Godfather. It was a beautiful ceremony with much of our family attending.

It's been about 6 months since my last blog post...I guess it's time to catch up!  Let's start with our biggest news, the birth of Michael Paul, born at 10am Christmas Eve :)
