Finally!
I'm not exactly sure when I started making this dress, but it was quite a while ago...maybe 6 months or so. With a lot of help and encouragement from friends, it's finally completed:

Madeline was pleased with the dress, but she informed me she wants a pink one and I should give the blue one to Ethan. When I told her that boys don't wear dresses, she said that we could mail this one to her friend, Mariah, and I could make her a pink one. ...sigh...
Riverbanks Zoo
Monday we went to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina with our Mom's group. Turns out I picked a perfect date for the trip!!! The weather couldn't have been more beautiful!
Here we are bright and early getting ready to leave. It takes about an hour and 15 minutes to get there, but we were going to a friend's house first to car-pool.

On the road. Ethan was super happy to be riding in Mrs. Janette's car!
Shortly after we arrived, while waiting for all the Mom's and tikes to show up. It's Madeline with her friends, Mariah and Owen. And Ethan with his friend's Ava and Holland:

Excited to see the zoo:

The first thing we saw:
Then we saw many beautiful birds:
Then we visited the Gorillas. By far, Ethan's favorite thing to see:
Can you tell what he's doing?? (Yes, I know he's a he because of what he's doing):
Checking out the elephants:
My friend, Sarrah, brought this Mei Tei (sp?) that she brought to lend another mom, but since that mom didn't show, I tried it out! I was great for the first hour...I couldn't take much more than that though. I think it was a combination of not having him seated high enough and the weight:
Too cool:
Looking at the tortoises:
I think our favorite part of the day was feeding the giraffes:

Ethan wanted to feed him, but he didn't want to look at him while doing so. Quite a few people got a good chuckle out of it. He stood like this for quite a long time:
He finally stopped teasing the giraffe and fed it:
Madeline was a little scared of the mama giraffe, so she wouldn't come near for a picture:

The giraffe eventually walked away, so Madeline came over:
Here we are bright and early getting ready to leave. It takes about an hour and 15 minutes to get there, but we were going to a friend's house first to car-pool.
