Christmas at the Grants

We drove up to Maryland two days prior to Christmas.  The kids are really good with traveling (tons of books, some coloring , many eye-spy games, and we end the last 2 hours of the trips with some movie-time).  This trip we compared it to the journey of the wise men to celebrate Jesus' birth.  The kids just soaked it up!
The drive went very smooth and we arrived at my parents house with a couple hours to visit and burn off some energy, before walking down the street to my Aunt Kris and Uncle Joe's house for a first (hopefully annual) Christmas get-together.  There was lots of food, lots of laughs, lots of love, and a few surprise Christmas presents:

The wonderful lady who helps take care of my Gram got each of the kids a little craft:
Gram handing out presents to her Great-Grandchildren (a case of crayons and coloring book):
Madeline has always been intrigued by my Gram.  She mentions "Great Gram" out of the blue periodically and it warms my heart (pardon the cliche, it's just so true).  She was so happy to hand Gram her gifts we brought:

This may look sweet and innocent...
...but it led to this.  However, it was full of laughs (remember they had just been in the car for 10 hours!)
We heard Gram could use some clothes, so I had a blast picking out a few things for her to lounge around in (by the way, I'm wearing the sweatshirt from my Alma mater that my uncle/Godfather gave me):
 Just what he needed:
While my son is being wild, his cousin Taylor is playing us some sweet music:
Their Uncle Kris, my bro (Uncle Joe), and my cousin Wil entertained the kids for a bit...or maybe it was the other way around:
My mom with her Grand kids, Ethan, Jack, Madeline, Taylor:
My Gram and a bunch of her cousins (some spouses) and their kids:
