A Saturday at the Harkins

Saturday morning we had a little 2 year old friend visit for a few hours, so shortly after she arrived, we took the kids straight outback to run around. We set up the baby pool, but I didn't even bother putting a bathing suit on Ethan because recently when we set up the pool, he doesn't bother playing with the water...he just find other things to do.
The kids took turns operating the hose:
Ethan helped Madeline fill up a bucket:
Madeline loves the little slide on the pool!

T R O U B L E:
This is what happens when you think your kid won't get wet:
He did this over and over and had to make sure every last drop got on him:

While Ethan was soaking himself, Madeline was practicing some soccer skills:

...and occasionally trying to throw in a few dance moves with the soccer (seriously, that's what she was doing):
I guess the bucket got boring:

Later that evening, Doug had some friends from work over. One of the guys is retiring and moving to SC, so this was a final farewell.
Ethan really bonded with Mr. Waldo, one of Doug's newest co-workers (who just came from MD!). Mr. Waldo was really good with Ethan. He's missing his wife, kids and grandkids who are still located in MD, so this visit was a good little kid-fix for him:
Ethan thought his phone was so cool:
Doug and his co-workers:
It was a long, busy, fun Saturday :)
