Playground
I know I've mentioned it several times, but there is a small playground very close to our house that we walk to on a regular basis. It's the smaller of the two playgrounds our neighborhood has, and it's only a hop, skip, and a jump from our house. This makes it very convenient to take a quick little walk for a quick little play time when we need to get out. Here are some pictures from one of our visits:

Backyard Fun
Here's some pictures of us playing in the backyard over the past week.
This is Madeline with her "base." I'm trying to get her to understand the idea of there being a baseball bat and ball, but it's all just a "base." FYI: She's standing in front of a bench that our neighbor's were going to throw away, but they asked us if we wanted it first. It's pretty weathered, but I think it just adds character and it adds a little something to our boring backyard. One day, when we have time, we'll give it a little TLC and get it looking cute.
Madeline always wants the sprinkler on, but she doesn't want the water to hit her. This is why I don't even bother puting a bathing suit on her anymore.

Ethan's new move
This is Ethan's latest move. My mom (and Godmom...hi Leenie!) say I did the same thing when I was little. They say I didn't like the feel of the carpet on my knees, so I would get around like this. I'm not quite sure if that's the case with Ethan...he does it kinda randomly, but it's so funny to watch.
His strength amazes me! lol
Out and About
Last Wednesday we went to Kindergym, now named Little Friends Gym. We were supposed to go strawberry picking, but they were calling for rain so we just went here instead.
Ethan was playing with this toy for a while when all of a sudden he pulled himself up to a stand!
After playing inside for a while, we decided (well, Madeline decided for us) that we would go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather (it never rained!).

Madeline was coloring at the kitchen table the other day and we needed to start getting dressed for the day, so I asked her to bring her book and markers to the family room to color for a couple minutes. I went into the bedroom, right around the corner, and quickly changed into some jeans. Then I heard her say, "uh oh, dropped the book." So I came out to pick her book back up for her and this is what I saw:
I was not happy as she knows we only color on paper. She has drawn on her hands a few times here and there and occasionally a little on her legs, but she always goes to time out for it and she hasn't done it in quite a while, so I was blown away to see this. She's been a bit of a stinker recently, so I guess I wasn't all too surprised she colored on herself...but I couldn't believe HOW MUCH she had colored on herself and how fast! I was reluctant to take pictures because I didn't want her to think it was OK...but I couldn't resist. This HAS to be documented! At first she could tell I was very upset, but when I started taking a couple pictures, she started laughing:
Normally, I would have her go sit in time out, but I didn't want her touching ANYTHING except the bathtub. You can't tell in the picture above, but she had it all over her legs, feet and hands too. We went straight up to the tub, leaving red hand prints along the way. Surprisingly, the marker came up perfectly from the furniture and walls, but as you can see....it doesn't wash from the skin as well as you would think:

How we spent our Saturday
We've had a very nice weekend, and took some cute pictures yesterday, so I thought I'd put together a little post of how we spent Saturday.
The morning started with us attending Doug's "exercise class." He had a test he was going to take for his Jui Jitsu class to see if he could more up to the advanced class, so we all went together. The kids were great and Daddy did an awesome job! We're so proud of him!
After that, we picked up some lunch at Five Guys and then headed back home to hang out.
Here's Daddy and Madeline have some fun together. He can ALWAYS make her laugh...
Then Ethan needed some Daddy time...or did Daddy need some Ethan time?
Aren't they a cute bunch!!!
Madeline let me put her hair up in pig-tails again, but then wanted to do my hair. But first we had to put on sunglasses of course! I have on hers, she has on mine.
Here we are after my hair is all beautiful. I love how she put her sunglasses on top of her head!
Ethan doesn't have any hair to brush yet, but he sure loves to chew on brushes!

That afternoon we were invited over to the house of a guy Doug works with for dinner. They has a 3 year old son, Ian, who gets along with Madeline wonderfully! Here is a picture of him trying to put on Madeline's shoes so they can go outside. It was so cute how he kept trying to help her do things.
So we went out back for a short while where they played with the soccer ball...
and Ethan and I just hung out.
I forgot that I didn't bring anything for Ethan to sit in when I fed him, but Paxton was able to find Ian's old booster seat. They couldn't find the straps or tray so I wasn't sure how Ethan would do and what kind of mess he would make, but he did great!! He just sat there the whole time like a big boy and was mess-free!! I couldn't believe it!
Another guy that Doug works with came by with his wife and dog. This was the biggest dog I have ever seen in person!! The picture doesn't do it justice...the thing was HUGE!
