Impromptu Outing

March 24, 2010

Doug called from work today to say he was going to skip his Jiu Jitsu class tonight and we should go out and do something nice. We hadn't been to the Savannah Rapids in quite a while (even though it's only about 20 minutes away), so we decided to hop in the car and head over there to enjoy some family time outside in the beautiful weather.

Madeline loved these stones. She had to hop on each one: ...and Ethan had to stop for his rocks (one of his new words): He was a little overwhelmed with the choices he had! But he finally found the right ones...one for each hand: Daddy finally had to help move him along. Ethan just couldn't stop checking out the rocks: Madeline wanted Froggy to join us for the walk: To say Ethan loved staring at the water would be an understatement: He was truly amazed: These pictures weren't taken back-to-back. It was over a significant period of time. He was just so calm and content to watch the water: Madeline enjoyed it too. She liked watching things, such as leaves, float along the water and then fall down the falls: She also thought it was funny that he feet were on the other side of the fence (She's a little wild, that Madeline!): Daddy finally was trying to see if there was something inparticular that Ethan was staring at:
My man:
The kids: The family: Heading back to the car, but we stopped for a break: Bro and sis: I don't know where she gets it from: Showing me their rocks: And she hopped on each stone on the way back too: Our outing was so nice...a little change in pace that we needed :)
